    Nostalgia Hanok Hotel

Historic hanok houses reimagined for private stays in Bukchon
A traditional Korean hanok house in evening with an evergreen tree growing in the centre and big windows showing a few lights inside.

A traditional Korean house in historic Seoul

Nostalgia Hanok Hotel is a restored collection of traditional Korean houses, or hanoks, scattered throughout the narrow lanes of Bukchon Hanok Village. Each is an individual private residence with its own name, traditional Korean architecture and courtyard gardens. You will have the entire residence exclusively to yourself, set in a historic Seoul neighbourhood between Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung palaces.

You can choose from seven individually designed luxury hanoks, each with its own distinctive character. Blue Jae is named for its distinctive blue roof tiles and features a collection of antique furniture and traditional Korean paintings. Hidden Jae has an outdoor hot tub and unique, cave-like music room.

Nook Jae has its own foot-therapy space, while the larger Double Jae gives you two adjoining hanoks and gardens, perfect for larger groups. Slow Jae incorporates thoughtful touches such as specially curated music and a signature scent. We particularly love its kinetic drawing installation and ceramics studio, where you can take part in a pottery-making session.

Beyond the hanok, you can enjoy breakfast at Bukchon ONE Cafe, sampling Korean delicacies like nurungji (scorched rice), jeonggwa (walnut confection) and gimbugak (sheets of crispy, fried seaweed and glutinous rice). Later in the day, order the hotel’s Bukchon makgeolli (traditional Korean rice wine), developed by master brewer Chunggil Yoo and served with a two-tier platter of food and snacks.
