Rakkojae Andong

Embrace Korean tradition at Rakkojae Andong Hahoe hotel in Andong, South Korea, the only traditional accommodation within the UNESCO designated Hahoe Folk Village. Founded in the 14th to 15th centuries, Hahoe Folk Village preserves Joseon Dynasty architecture and folk heritage. Your accommodation, comprising the main Giwa complex plus four separate hanok houses, echoes the village’s design.

Featuring authentic choga thatched roofs, each of the hanok rooms contains a private whirlpool bath, with access to a yellow-mud sauna, allowing you to relax in the same way as those who came hundreds of years before. Both here and in the main building, traditional design blends with modern comfort for a harmonious stay.

Dine on regional specialities at the hotel’s restaurant, or explore your peaceful surroundings. Ride across the Nakdong River on a ferryman’s boat to reach Buyongdae cliff, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of Rakkojae Hahoe and the Hahoe village.
