The RV Katha Pandaw is one of the newer cruise ships on the Irrawaddy River, and one of Pandaw’s smaller vessels, allowing it to cruise the upper reaches of the Irrawaddy and Chindwin tributary.
With 16 teak-lined cabins and 32 passengers, spread over two decks, this boutique river ship is serviced by an experienced English speaking crew of 18. The air conditioned cabins are a spacious 170 square feet, all with a large river facing picture window, bathroom and a range of amenities.
On shore excursions are lead by knowledgeable local guides and cruise staff. Guests can tour and explore hidden temples, famous landmarks, the beautiful countryside and ancient villages. Onboard RV Katha Pandaw, activities focus around the expansive sun deck, with covered areas for lounging or reading, and a bar for having a cocktail while watching the breathtaking scenery.
Dining onboard Katha takes place in the Sun Deck or Upper Deck, and offers traditional fixed seating with an open-air atmosphere. Dinner is a multi-course menu with fresh, locally bought, regional cuisine, sometimes accompanied by traditional entertainment.
