The decor in the spacious villas is contemporary, emphasising warm neutral colours and natural materials like wood and stone. Subtle Okinawan touches, including coastal-themed artwork and traditional shisa (guardian lion statues), ground the property in the history and culture of the island. There are three restaurants and two bars to enjoy. Maas serves fresh local seafood, Nagi offers authentic Italian dishes and Choma specialises in four varieties of Japanese cuisine: sushi, yakitori, tempura and teppanyaki. Meanwhile, Yukuu is ideal for light bites and poolside drinks. We especially love Choma Bar, which has a menu of signature cocktails inspired by the island

In addition to having easy access to two peaceful beaches, you can enjoy a dip in the infinity pool lined with cabanas and sunbeds. There’s also a gym, a studio for fitness classes and equipment for watersports like kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. And the tranquil spa offers an array of treatments using local mineral-rich snow salt.

Staying at Rosewood Miyakojima offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in Okinawa’s distinctive Ryukyu culture. Make cocktails using island ingredients, take a karate class with an expert in the local martial art, or go on a snorkelling trip to observe the resident sea turtles.
