Magnificent primates, sweeping savannahs and peaceful reatreats
Uganda is a dream destination for couples in search of spectacular wildlife and natural beauty. You’ll enjoy a superb balance of thrilling activities and tranquil moments, offering plenty of opportunities to step outside your comfort zone – while also taking the time to simply enjoy each other’s company and celebrate this new chapter together.
This country is home to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of the most beautiful forests in the world and an essential stop for anyone hoping to see mountain gorillas in the wild. Gorilla trekking can be physically challenging, but it’s well worth the time and effort for the privilege to observe these incredible creatures.
Animal lovers should also head to Kibale Forest National Park to see chimpanzees, monkeys and birdlife, as well as Queen Elizabeth National Park – famous for its tree-climbing lions and luxurious safari experiences. Spend some time relaxing in Entebbe and wandering through its markets, too.
There are plenty of remote lodges and romantic hotels scattered across Uganda, many of which are ideal for couples. Contact our team of travel designers to start crafting an Uganda honeymoon itinerary that’s carefully adapted to your interests, accommodation preferences and travel style.

When to visit Uganda for honeymoon safaris
The best time for a honeymoon safari in Uganda is during the dry season, when skies are sunny and animals are easiest to spot.
There are actually two dry seasons here: June–September and December–February. These coincide with the best months to visit many of the country’s main attractions, including Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Murchison Falls.
You can also visit Uganda during one of the two wet seasons, which fall from March–May and October–November.
Although the weather will be rainier and trails might be slippery, you’re likely to enjoy a less-crowded and quieter honeymoon experience. During these months the country also comes to life with gorgeous green foliage.
