Charting a course through the turquoise waters of the Seychelles along ancient spice routes, the expedition yacht Aqua Lares promises an intimate exploration of the Indian Ocean’s biodiverse marine world. You’ll navigate corners larger vessels are unable to reach and uncover remote atolls that few experience. Alongside a crew-to-guest ratio of one-to-one, naturalist guides enrich every journey, bringing the islands’ intricate ecosystems to life.

Just 15 cabins, including three owner’s suites, are scattered across the Aqua Lares’ six spacious decks. Their interiors are sophisticated and modern, featuring influences from East Africa and elegant wood panels that bring nature indoors. 

There’s plenty of space for you to spread out while cruising. Watch granite-framed islands and palm-topped islets slowly drift past from one of several al fresco areas. Marvel at an uninterrupted vista from the sundeck or the Jacuzzi when sunsets tinge vast skies with hues of gold, purple and scarlet. Other spaces for gathering include a cinema, indoor and outdoor dining areas to savour gourmet cuisine, as well as a lounge and bar for cocktails and canapés. 

Aqua Lares’ itineraries range between five and 14 nights. Shorter voyages loop around the Inner Islands of the Seychelles, including Praslin and La Digue. Step ashore for cycling adventures to wild, powder-white beaches or search for the endangered Coco de Mer palm – producing the world’s largest nut. 

You can extend your epic journey to the archipelago’s Outer Islands where your days are spent birdwatching and snorkelling in wildlife-rich lagoons and reefs, home to manta rays, sea turtles and giant sailfish. Longer voyages merge the marine wonders of the Seychelles with the Swahili‑Arabian heritage sites of Tanzania and Zanzibar.
