Chiriqui, Panama
Islas Secas

Experience true luxury in nature on this secluded archipelago
For a retreat with wow-factor, the private island resort of Islas Secas, 20 miles off the Pacific Coast of Panama, delivers everything you could wish for and more. Comprising 14 private volcanic islands in the Gulf of Chiriquí, 13 of which remain wild and untouched, the resort promises equal amounts of exclusive privacy and unrivalled natural beauty.
Accommodation options range from airy, one-bedroom casitas tucked amongst the foliage, to the one-of-a-kind Casa Cavada, a four-bedroom property with a dedicated chef and house manager. Each option is beautifully finished and designed to connect you to the wonders of your natural surroundings through indoor-outdoor layouts and cosy terraces. For the pinnacle of exclusive experiences, the whole island is available as a buyout.
The dining options are just as impressive, with a daily changing menu inspired by Panamanian cultural heritage and fresh, sustainable seafood. Enjoy each meal in barefoot luxury at the sand-side Terrazza restaurant, or make the most of the private dining options with a candle-lit meal beneath the stars.
Luxury may be the headline, but the resort’s ethos is deeply rooted in conservation. The low-impact operation runs entirely on natural energy, and works in partnership with the Chiriquí community and Panamanian law to preserve the islands’ biodiversity and the cultural integrity of the wider community. Activities here reflect these values, and guests are encouraged to discover more about its biodiversity through a marine safari, which includes scuba diving and nature cruises, and spotting humpback whales on a whale watching tour.

- A stay here helps fund initiatives to safeguard the Gulf of Chiriquí, home to 25% of Panama’s mangroves and critical marine habitats. Through partnerships with local organisations, the Foundation has restored more than five hectares of mangroves, promoted sustainable fishing, supported coral protection laws and advanced research for endangered species.
- Contributions from your stay enable partnerships with organisations like the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute to conduct vital research on coral reefs, bird populations and marine life.
