Alternatively, stay in a suite or private villa, with meals included at the on-site restaurant, Sugarloaf. It offers a menu of delicious modern New Zealand cuisine that showcases local and seasonal produce – much of which is grown in the property’s garden.

We highly recommend the hotel’s signature Farm Tour, which is included in every stay. It gives you an authentic glimpse of life on a South Island sheep station, including meeting the sheepdogs and watching them round up a flock. Other experiences that allow you to make the most of your time in this alpine landscape include hiking, caving, mountain biking, horse riding and stargazing.
