Spain

Riki loves Spain because...

Riki, one of our travel designers in Hong Kong, has lived and travelled all over the world: “I love going back to Spain, particularly the beautiful region of Andalusia, for the delicious tapas, sandy playas (beaches), endless sunshine, refreshing drinks and fascinating Moorish culture; what else could I ask for?”

Why choose Spain?

Thanks to its incredible cuisine, vibrant cities, compelling history, desert landscapes and pristine beaches, Spain is the ideal holiday destination for those looking for a mixed itinerary. It is also is a perfect place to travel solo, and particularly for solo female or LGBT travellers.

Mexico

Katie loves Mexico because...

Our Head of Australasia, Katie, loves Mexico: “I can’t stop going back there… in recent times it’s been almost every year! For me, it’s the perfect place to relax and a place I can truly unwind. The food is exceptional, the beaches are clean and sandy and the water is warm and clear. My preferred places to visit are Tulum or Cancun due to their tropical atmospheres and the abundance of marine life in the seas – great for snorkelling or diving.”

Why choose Mexico?

A country of ancient civilisations and fascinating modern cultures, Mexico is an intriguing destination. It has plenty to offer every type of traveller, from swimming with the marine life that occupies warm Caribbean seas to exploring lost Mayan ruins and roaming cosmopolitan cities.

Thailand

Kit loves Thailand because...

Travel designer Kit is based in our Hong Kong office so one of her preferred destinations is Thailand for a short haul trip: “Thailand is ideal for a lively couple of days in Bangkok exploring the food scene, or for a more laid back break on one of the many idyllic islands.”

Why choose Thailand?

Thailand is renowned for it’s fragrant, light and spicy cuisine; dishes that are best experienced on one of the floating markets in Bangkok. It also has a fascinating history and culture that keep visitors returning each year. For the beach lover, explore some of the 2,000 miles of pristine, sandy coastline and 8,000 islands.

Iceland

Jonny loves Iceland because...

Jonny, one of our travel designers for Africa, visited Iceland for the first time this year and fell in love with the cool country: “I had wanted to take a trip here for a while and I wasn’t disappointed! The landscapes, especially the volcanoes and geysers, are incredible. I’ll be returning so I can take the time explore more of the island and hopefully to go whale watching.”

Why choose Iceland?

The land of ice and fire is named as such thanks to its dramatic and varied landscapes: iconic volcanoes, rushing waterfalls, exploding geysers and steaming geothermal spas. For the outdoor and adventure lover, Iceland is a perfect playground. If you’re into wildlife, this is also a great destination; go whale watching and observe puffins in the summer months, try horseriding with the country’s iconic animal, and if you’re lucky, you might see the elusive Arctic fox.

Kenya

Kit loves Kenya because...

Kit, from Hong Kong, chooses to return to Kenya on long haul trips: “I love visiting Kenya because I love animals. And there is an abundance of wildlife in the Masai Mara, Samburu Reserve and Amboseli National Park. It makes for exciting and rewarding safaris, plus you become more skilled at spotting animals each time you return.”

Why choose Kenya?

Kenya is of course renowned for its wildlife, game drives and the Big Five, but a great reason to return is for the people. A friendly nation, Kenya’s lodges are great at accommodating children with plenty of family oriented activites. On some trips, you can meet the warm and welcoming Samburu tribe and local Masai for an insight into local culture and to take part in community projects.
