Beautiful Water-Focused Camp in a Private Concession

One of the more private lodges of the Okavango Delta, Xugana is located on its very own private concession and is perfect for a romantic, getaway safari. The lodge has a secluded position under a canopy of Ebony and African Mangosteen trees and faces out onto the calming waters of the Xugana Lagoon, boasting sweeping views over the heart of the Okavango Delta.

The location makes it an ideal lodge for a romantic escape and memorable African safari experience, allowing a chance to explore the Okavango Delta’s waterways by powerboat. If you want to experience the traditional mode of travel, we recommend that you hop on board a Mokoro canoe, which will allow you to slowly glide through the waterways, allowing for some fantastic bird viewing experiences.

Explore the larger African wildlife species by joining a guide on a nature walk, where you may have the rare opportunity to get close to some Buffalo and Lions. There are also game drives available from October to June.

Wilderness Qorokwe Camp

Wilderness Qorokwe Camp can be found in the enormous and exclusive Qorokwe Concession, bordering the renowned Moremi Game Reserve in the south-eastern Okavango Delta. This classic camp has eight tented suites plus a spacious family unit with its own splash pool. The grand main area is the focal point of the camp and overlooks a lagoon with a dining area, lounge, pool, library and bar built on raised wooden platforms, all connected by walkways.

Duba Explorers Camp

Set within the 77,000-hectare Duba Plains private reserve is the Duba Explorers Camp, a wonderful base from which to explore this incredible wildlife-rich part of Botswana. Guests can rest assured that the team at this camp is completely dedicated to conservation and supporting the local community. They have various initiatives in place, from Pack for a Purpose, to sports programmes and community enrichment projects.

The camp is built on a wooded island and consists of six expedition-style tents that sit on slightly raised decking and look out across the surrounding floodplains. With wooden writing desks and large four-poster beds, the tents are designed to evoke feelings of old-school safari xploration. There are en-suite bathroom and an open-plan living and dining area, which opens on all sides, leads out onto a private verandah.

This part of the Delta is home to large herds of buffalo and elephant as well as healthy lion, leopard and hippo populations. Bird watchers will not be disappointed with the wattled crane, pel’s fishing owl, white-backed night heron and marsh owl nesting in the trees. Enjoy guided walks, boating opportunities and open air game drives throughout the reserve, then come back and enjoy a sundowner and dinner under the stars back at camp.
