Antarctica
Magellan Discoverer

A boutique vessel offering refined fly-and-sail journeys to the Polar Circle
Built for Antarctica21’s new fly-and-cruise expeditions, this journey allows you to reach Antarctica without crossing the notoriously tumultuous Drake Passage. Instead, you fly directly from Punta Arenas to King George Island before boarding the ship. There is space for 76 guests in 40 staterooms while retaining the intimacy and boutique service of a yacht. Each cabin features a private balcony and large windows, with interiors by Tomas Tillberg Design that use soft tones and natural textures to frame the surrounding ice.
Purpose-built for polar exploration, the Magellan Discoverer is equipped with hybrid-electric propulsion and an energy-recovery system that recycles engine heat to warm the ship and water onboard. A PC6 ice-class hull ensures safe, stable navigation through Antarctic waters. Shared spaces include a glass-walled observation lounge, sauna with panoramic windows, an Anytime Fitness gym, bar and library.
Each day blends discovery and comfort, with Zodiac landings and onshore excursions followed by elegant dining with panoramic views. Evenings might end with a quiet drink in the lounge as the light fades across glaciers and sea ice.
