Itinerary in detail
Every Jacada trip is tailored to your personal preferences and interests. Below you’ll find a sample itinerary to inspire your own custom-designed journey.
Days 1–3
Welcome to Perth
Located on the far west coast of the country, the capital city of Western Australia state, Perth carries a uniquely laid back and cosmopolitan charm and has been voted as one of the most liveable modern cities, not just in Australia, but in the world. The city, the start of your Western Australia tour, is a mixture of architectural designs, from Art Deco to vast glass skyscrapers. Strolling through its streets, you will hear the air fill with the sounds of the Swan Bells as you discover Perth’s art galleries and museums. Ferries across Swan River to South Perth offer a wonderful cityscape view while the golden beaches strung out into Perth’s suburbs up and down the coast from the river mouth a the place to end the day, watching the sun set over the waves.

Rottnest Island discovery

Head over to Rottnest Island, one of Western Australia’s most popular islands, by seaplane. You’ll enjoy a four-hour cruise around the island with interactive experiences on beaches and in bays along the way. You’ll also sit down to an eight-course lunch featuring locally caught seafood. This excursion gives you the chance to learn about the island’s history and its famous marsupial, the quokka.
Days 3–6
Days in Margaret River
Margaret River is a rich wine producing region that also has dozens of top quality surf spots, lush forests and great blooming patches of wild flowers. There is a distinct collection of wines, cheeses, ice-creams and craft beer, produced here, coming together in a large artisanal community of craftsmen and connoisseurs, together making this area a must for foodies. Your Margaret River tour will be tailored to suit your interests.

Where you could stay
Winelands discovery

Spend a day discovering some of the finest wine estates in the region. Immerse yourself in the beautiful scenery and taste some exquisite wines along the way. You’ll discover some of the best kept secrets of the Swan Valley Region, Western Australia’s first wine region which was planted by the English back in 1829.
At the end of your Margaret River stay, you’ll head back to Perth by helicopter.
Days 6–7
Overnight in Perth
Spend a night in Perth before your journey takes you onwards to Ningaloo Reef. Spend some time exploring the city, dine at award-winning restaurants, or simply relax at the hotel reflecting on your adventure so far.

Days 7–11
Exploring Ningaloo Reef
One of the highlights of a visit to Western Australia is the opportunity to explore the pristine underwater world of Ningaloo Reef, the world’s largest fringing reef. The waters here are home to whale sharks, turtles, reef sharks and rays. Along with a variety of Ningaloo Reed activities, the snorkelling here is some of the best in the world.

Swimming with whale sharks

Whale sharks cruise the world’s oceans in search of concentrations of plankton to feed on and the Ningaloo Reef is one of the only places on the planet where they appear regularly in large numbers.
You will be kitted out with wetsuit and snorkel gear and a spotter plane will already be in the air, searching for whale sharks as they feed. The whale shark will be continually moving so swimming is required during interaction; you will need to be a confident swimmer, able to snorkel and able to swim freestyle. There may be time for a snorkel at different sites along the reef and, throughout the day, the crew will also be searching for turtles, rays, dolphins, dugongs and sea birds. Field work, contributing to scientific research programs, is conducted on each cruise. You can get involved with data collection.
Days 11–12
Back to Perth
Your final night is spent back in Perth where you can spend the evening enjoying the city and sharing stories of your memorable Western Australia adventure over a delicious meal. And perhaps even beginning to dream of your next journey as you watch the sun set over the city.
