Ngaga Lodge

Immerse yourself in the forested habitat of western lowland gorillas
Set deep within the dense foliage of the Ndzehi Concession, Ngaga Lodge is more than just a place to stay; it’s a window into the natural world in its wildest state. Researchers come here to study the critically endangered western lowland gorilla – a species that you can seek out on unforgettable gorilla tracking excursions. Awaken before dawn and head into the forest on foot to observe these peaceful creatures in their natural habitat.
The lodge itself has just six bungalows perched high in the treetops, each one encircled by a private deck. After a day of exploring, sit down to a carefully crafted three-course dinner in the communal dining area – which boasts equally stunning views of the surroundings – then retreat to your room to fall asleep to the soothing soundtrack of the forest.
In addition to gorilla tracking, the lodge also offers guided nature walks and visits to the nearby villages of Ombo and Mbomo, where you’ll meet local community leaders and residents. Ngaga is part of a trio of lodges operated by Kamba African Rainforest Experiences; you can visit all three on specially curated journeys throughout the Congo Basin and Odzala-Kokoua National Park.
