Nambwa Tented Lodge

Treetop suites and wetland safaris
A tented suite with brown canvas roof is set in the treetops, with access to a raised wooden walkway.

A luxury tented lodge with treetop suites offering views over the floodplains

Just ten spacious suites sit loftily in the treetops at Nambwa Tented Lodge, where wild elephants and other wildlife can often be observed grazing below. The only set of private lodges within Bwabwata National Park, it offers a secluded stay in the heart of Namibia’s Zambezi Region.

Each tented suite has a lounge area, a bathroom with a shower and deep-soaking tub, and a generous private deck. Decor is elegant throughout, with natural materials and neutral colours. Raised walkways link rooms to the main lodge and shared spaces, which include an outdoor pool and a large deck featuring a fire pit.

Dining focuses on local ingredients, with meals served to outdoor tables overlooking the floodplains. The lodge can also arrange private bush breakfasts and bespoke picnic safaris.

These wetlands, fed by the Kwando River, are part of a wildlife corridor for elephants, buffalos, leopards and lions. Head out on game drives with expert trackers who know the best places for sightings, or cruise along the waterways in search of hippos, crocodiles and kingfishers. Nambwa Tented Lodge is also the only accommodation permitted to offer guided walks within the park.

Safari activities can be tailored for children, with junior ranger programmes that include treasure hunts, nature walks where kids learn tracking skills, and camping on a private island in the bush.
