Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique
Chicari Camp

Unforgettable adventures with a light footprint
Nestled among fever trees and lush woodland, Chicari Camp offers a front-row seat to the wild beauty of Gorongosa National Park. The camp, named after a traditional clay drinking pot, features eight en-suite safari tents which have been designed to blend modern comfort with the simplicity of a classic bush camp. Enjoy exquisite views of the wildlife and birds gathering to drink and wallow in the pan from your private deck. The tents are spacious with solar-powered lighting. For couples travelling together, or families, the Treehide Unit is a great option, with two en-suite tents connected by a large shared viewing deck.
Head out on thrilling game drives to see lions, elephants and wild dogs, or join an experienced guide for a walking safari that begins right from camp. Depending on water levels, boating excursions are also an excellent way to discover the richness of the Urema floodplain. When you’re not out exploring, take a stroll into the heart of the camp and relax in the spacious, shaded lounge, dining area and bar. The perfect space to enjoy a quiet drink or meal while watching the wildlife nearby. And as the sun sets, gather around the campfire with your fellow guests to share stories from your Gorongosa National Park safari and listen to the sounds of the bush.
Chicari Camp has been specifically designed to be off-grid and have as light a footprint as possible, and at the end of each season it is dismantled and packed away.
