Angama Safari Camp, a light-footprint sole-use tented camp accommodating up to eight guests in four en-suite tents, is located deep in the Maasai Mara. This unique camp captures the romance and adventure of the Golden Age of safaris, but with a lightness of spirit. Enjoy the comforts of 21st century camping, but with the thrill of having nothing but canvas between you, the Mara and year-round abundant wildlife right on your doorstep. The tents have been designed to maximise light and views across the plains. With a dedicated safari vehicle, guide and Safari Camp team, each day’s programme is entirely up to you.

Your private safari begins the minute you land – even the short drive to Topi House from the airstrip is an incredible game-viewing opportunity. Positioned directly on the wildebeest migration route to the eastern side of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, vast herds of animals have at times come right up to the door.

The house itself has three spacious en-suite bedrooms that are linked by a large veranda running along the front facade. At the far end is the living area, which is made up of an open-plan sitting and dining room complete with an open log fire. Guests can also relax around a campfire outside under the stars.

Your personal chef will prepare home-cooked meals using ingredients sourced in Nairobi and from nearby local communities, catering for bush picnics or lunches out on the lawn under the shade of the acacia trees. A private safari guide will lead early morning and evening game drives at your own pace and teach children about earth, soil and leaves and smell the wild fruits and flowers on a vibrant and exciting bush walks. There’s also the chance to visit your guides in their home communities, a rich and rewarding experience, often the most memorable moment of a safari here.

Acacia House sits in the secluded Ol Chorro Losoit Valley within the beautiful Lemek Hills. There is a large open-air veranda, perfectly positioned to let you watch all the goings on at the busy Ol Chorro waterhole.

The house also features an open-plan dining and seating area, complete with a log fire, as well as two spacious double en-suite bedrooms and a third attic room, created specifically with children in mind.

Acacia House comes with a private team of experienced staff, including a chef, who will prepare all meals and will cater for bush picnics or lunches under the acacia trees by the pool (shared with neighbouring Mara House), wildlife guide and house manager to ensure a seamlessly-run safari experience which delivers the very best the Mara has to offer.

A fully qualified Maasai guide and private vehicle will be on hand to assist with a wide range of safari activities which include walking, day or night game drives and visits to local villages and trading centres. Game viewing is done primarily in the conservancies of Mara North, Ol Chorro and Lemek – an area of about 100,000 acres. Trips into the Reserve can be undertaken should you wish to do so.
