La Paz - Cabo
Camp Cecil

A luxury award-winning glamping retreat on a protected island
Situated on Isla Espiritu Santo, Camp Cecil Lodge is a luxury tented camp in Mexico that grants you access to the unrivalled biodiversity of the Sea of Cortez – a UNESCO World Heritage Site nicknamed ‘the aquarium of the world’ by Jacques Cousteau.
Off the island’s coast, swim with adorable sea lions and fish of all stripes, including giant whale sharks. You can glide alongside turtles in tucked-away bays by kayak, or see whales and dolphins in their natural habitat on private boat trips. It’s also a great destination for birdwatching, with extraordinary sightings of blue-footed boobies, magnificent frigatebirds and great blue herons.
A swift boat ride from La Paz transports you to this uninhabited paradise, where jewel-toned waters meet the sun-baked, reddish earth of its cliffs, crowned by towering saguaro cacti. Along a white sand beach on Isla Espiritu Santo’s shoreline, you’ll find only a handful of domed tents, each spacious with high ceilings and comfortably furnished with plush beds. From your private outdoor seating area, gaze out to the emerald waters that gently lap the shore, just footsteps away. Beyond, you can follow your expert naturalist guide along hiking trails in search of ancient cave art.
To complement your experience, meals are masterfully prepared onsite, with freshly caught fish sourced from local fishermen often taking centre stage. As the sun sinks below the horizon, casting molten gold streaks across the sky, you’re invited to unwind with a chilled margarita in hand, while brown pelicans, caspian terns or yellow-footed gulls gracefully swoop for their supper in the bay before you. As night falls, marvel at velvety skies gleaming with starlight, their pristine clarity completely void of light pollution, making it perfect for spotting countless constellations.
