The accommodations at Åmot from afar.

A celebration of Norwegian nature and culture

Situated at the end of the stunning Sunnfjord, in the Norwegian fjords, lies Åmot. Here the accommodations are split into the villa, which dates back to 1890, and the cottage, a charming guesthouse originally built in the 1820s.

Within the villa you’ll find three en-suite bedrooms spread across three floors. On the ground floor, the garden suite comprises an open plan bedroom and sitting area, whilst the Oline suite on the top floor boasts views over the entire property. Meanwhile the cottage features four bedrooms: two of these are situated on the ground floor of the building and can be combined into a family room.

For dining, the barn boasts a magnificent dining area and lounge with a fireplace. Join Åmot’s local chef here and learn about Norwegian cuisine whilst indulging in the fresh, seasonal flavours of Sunnfjord. Afterwards, head across to the property’s smokehouse, where you can curl up with a book in front of the crackling fireplace in the drawing room, or sip on an refreshing drink as you admire the serene view of the garden and mountains beyond.

Rejuvenate your senses with a soak in the outdoor hot tub, or stretch your muscles with a morning yoga session in the upstairs studio of the barn. Experiences you can take part in also include cruising the fjord on a traditional rowing boat, glacier hikes, e-bike tours in the valley or trying your hand at salmon fishing in the River of Gaula.

On every adventure you’re accompanied by a local guide whose personal knowledge of the land ensures you explore it in ways that respect the region’s delicate ecosystems. Artists and storytellers deepen your connection to Norwegian heritage through experiences that immerse you in local customs such as traditional performances.
