The Belmond Splendido Mare is located downhill from its illustrious sister property, Belmond Hotel Splendido, right in the middle of Portofino and overlooking the buzzing harbour.
It’s 16 rooms and suites are bright and furnished with Italian charm, many boasting private terraces and wonderful views of the waterfront. The sprawling Ava Gardner suite, spread across the entire top floor, is named after the star who stayed here.
Belmond Splendido Mare’s restaurant, the Chauflay, showcases fresh fish and Ligurian specialities, all in a most glamorous location. Gaze out across the Piazzetta as yachts motor in, fishermen unload their catch and locals stroll by, soaking up the town’s rarefied ambiance at night accompanied by gentle piano music.
