Itinerary in detail
Every Jacada trip is tailored to your personal preferences and interests. Below you’ll find a sample itinerary to inspire your own custom-designed journey.
Days 1–2
The safari capital of Africa
The only city in the world with a national park within its borders, Nairobi sets the tone for your wildlife rich week to come. Known as ‘the safari capital of Africa’, you can experience wildlife viewing, including endangered black and white rhinos, with a backdrop of city skyline, or plunge into Kenya’s history at one of the city’s multitude of museums.

Days 2–5
Walking safaris in the Laikipia Plateau
Explore amongst the clouds at the Laikipia Plateau, sitting at an altitude of around 6,500 feet between Mount Kenya and the Great Rift Valley. With wildlife densities second only to the Maasai Mara – and far fewer visitors, it’s an idyllic setting for a safari. Spend your days here exploring on foot with your guides, keeping an eye out for endangered species including black rhinos, African wild dogs and Grevy’s zebra.

On the move

Across your three days here, your mobile camp will move to a new spot each evening, giving you the chance to embark on an expedition across the acacia-studded landscapes. Each day is filled with outdoor activities tailored to your personal interests. Embark on guided walks, cultural visits to local communities, tracking wildlife or rock climbing. Scale the slopes of Nyasura to take in views over the plains with a sundowner and watch elephants wallow in the mud of the Ewaso Nyiro River. The camp’s team of guides will draw on their intimate knowledge of the area to track elusive wildlife and connect you with the land.
Days 5–8
On safari in the Maasai Mara
One of Africa’s most beloved safari destinations, the Maasai Mara is home to remarkable concentrations of big game. In addition to classic game drives, you can embark on a series of wildlife focussed and cultural experiences during your time here. Take a hot air balloon ride to spot wildlife on the plains below, enjoy romantic bush dinners by the Mara river and listen to stories from the Maasai.
