    Travel designer

My love affair with Latin America started in 2003 when I spent nearly a year travelling solo across the continent, from Ecuador to Torres del Paine, up to Rio de Janeiro, and then to Mexico.  I fell in love with the incredible diversity, the landscapes, the history, the culture, the warmth and openness of the people.  And of course the amazing food and wine!

I have since spent many years working as a tour leader and driver, organizing and leading tours across the region as well as across Africa and Central Asia, which was a fantastic experience.

    My most memorable trip

    Argentina

Exploring the north west region of Argentina was an amazing experience. It can feel so remote, and so different to the other more well known regions. And the pre columbian and Inca history there is just fascinating.

    Ecuador

For a small country, Ecuador really packs a punch! There is so much to do and experience for the whole family. Whether you’re an active family that enjoys getting adventurous together, mountain biking, hiking volcanoes and kayaking, or spending a few days exploring the Amazon jungle. Or to be wowed by the wildlife of the Galapagos. Ecuador is guaranteed to leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

    My favourite hotel

    Playa Cativo

I just love Playa Cativo on the Golfo Dulce in Costa Rica. It is only accessible by boat, so just getting there is a fun adventure - cruising along in a private boat with mangrove forests on one side and beautiful ocean views on the other, and if you’re lucky, dolphins swimming alongside. Its location on the Golfo Dulce, surrounded by pristine rainforest, means it has the perfect balance of being able to be immersed in nature, as well as being able to go kayaking, snorkelling and a host of fun water activities. The lodge itself is part of our Positive Impact Collection, and the attention to detail shines through in every aspect - it is luxurious, the food fantastic, and the service is top level - warm, friendly and personal.
