For me, the best thing about travelling is the chance to arrive somewhere as a stranger and leave as a friend.
It’s something I first experienced when I travelled overland in a Bedford truck through Namibia and Botswana and to the Victoria Falls. In my early twenties I spent three months backpacking through Mozambique and I haven’t looked back.
I find inspiration in nature and am passionate about wildlife, conservation and communities. I love to help others discover these on their travels too.
Working in travel is a huge privilege to me and over the years I’ve enjoyed luxury safaris throughout South Africa, been back to Botswana, explored the remote parks of Zambia and been awed time and time again by the Victoria Falls. If I had to choose, however, I’d say that my heart was in East Africa. From the gorillas and unique parks in Rwanda and Uganda, and all across Tanzania and Kenya, there’s something magical in the air.
I grew up in Cape Town and I love to spend my weekends and time off being a tourist in my own city. Food is another of my great loves and I’m constantly on the look out for the best cuisine wherever I go: preferably with a glass of sauvignon blanc or cabernet sauvignon on hand!
