I was born in Tanzania and grew up in Kenya, where I developed a genuine love of the people, landscapes and wildlife of this beautiful country. As my family were involved in the hospitality business, my summer holidays were spent visiting lodges and camps around the country – somehow always ending up at a beach hotel!
My upbringing meant that travelling was a natural way of life, and after university I decided to journey to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. A career in travel was the obvious next step and since then I have worked for a number of upmarket tour operators specialising in bespoke travel to my home land, Africa.
My regular adventures to Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa allow me to re-visit my favourite places and also to discover new gems, whilst scratching the ever-present travel itch.
After decades spent travelling through Africa, my highlights are numerous, but some stand-out moments include witnessing a migration crossing on the Mara River in northern Tanzania; canoeing down the Zambezi River through Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe; and taking my local rugby team on tour to Kenya! My favourite place is Botswana: a pure, unspoilt and unique wilderness.
Ask me about Zanzibar for its incredible scuba diving, Kenya, and rugby.
