Cool Icelandic style in the old harbour
- Personal host
- Minibar with Icelandic delicacies
- À la carte breakfast
In the colourful old harbour in the west of the capital is Reykjavik Marina Residence. Two original Reykjavík houses have been converted into seven suites, each offering ocean views and the feel of a luxury home.
A timber house called Daniel’s House contains the Lounge and main Aðalbjörg suite and is named after the ship builder Daniel Þorsteinsson, who lived there with his family. All the suites bear the names of successful and famous Icelandic ships, which were likely to have been repaired here at some point.
Both houses are impeccably furnished, cool and contemporary with subtle nods to its nautical history such as the knot-shaped cushions and bird sculptures. Original items and renovated old-style furniture give the suites plenty of character and a personal host, organic Icelandic amenities and a minibar filled with Icelandic delicacies add an extra special touch.
The waterfront offers exciting culinary options, a wealth of art galleries and is the starting point for the majority of Reykjavik’s marine activities.
