Luxury Travel to South central Alaska
Southcentral Alaska is the portion of this wild state that encompasses the dramatic shorelines and mountainous uplands around the central Gulf of Alaska.
Of Alaska’s 740,000 inhabitants, around half of them live within Southcentral, and the majority of those reside in and around Anchorage, the state’s largest city.
But wilderness still dominates here and the area includes Cook Inlet, the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, the Kenai Peninsula, Prince William Sound, and the Copper River Valley, a place of vast glaciers inching their way down from the mountains into the sea, sublime fjords and endless forests.
Known as ‘Alaska’s Playground’ for good reason, there’s an incredible array of adventure activities to do here, with world class fishing, hiking, fantastic wildlife viewing (The Chugach National Forest here has a bald eagle population larger than the continental 48 states combined) and excellent mountain biking trails.
