The Faena Buenos Aires is a striking design hotel in the waterside neighborhood of Puerto Madero, the brainchild of local empresario Alan Faena and designer Philippe Starck.
The hotel is located in the restored El Porteño building, an enormous silo built in 1902 that produced grain for post-war Europe. The decor encapsulates the grandeur of the belle epoque that characterised Buenos Aires at the turn of last centrury. A red, black and white colour scheme runs through the hotel teamed with exposed brick walls and concrete pillars that hark back to its industrious past.
Rooms and suites are filled with eye catching touches such as hand embroidered throws and filifree mirrors and feature huge windows which look out over Ecological Reserve, the parks, Río de la Plata and the quaysides of Puerto Madero.
Eating and drinking at the Faena is a real treat. Enjoy fine dining at Bistro Sur where the menu is inspired by the finest seasonal Argentinian produce, or opt for something more casual at El Mercado which is inspired by the country’s famous cantinas and the open air markets of Europe. The Library Lounge is an intimate space filled with antique books and crysal chandeliers, while El Cabaret, inspired by the city’s 1920s tango clubs, is where you can catch the award-winning show, Rojo Tango.
The hotel also features a spa, fitness centre and an outdoor pool.

Buenos Aires today offers both visitors and locals a broad choice of opportunities to enjoy its artistic and cultural heritage. Its fifty seven museums house permanent and visiting collections of classical and contemporary art, not to mention its many cultural and educational institutions to see.
With your private, expert guide you will begin your cultural tour with a visit to the Colon Theatre (Teatro Colon) before leading you through the historic Recoleta Cemetery, then the National Museum of Decorative Arts, followed by the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA).
Your tour will then conclude at the Fernández Blanco Museum of Spanish American Art, afterwards your guide will deliver you back to your hotel.
The Colon Theatre is itself a living museum, displaying the costumes and memorabilia of performances past, to hosting the world’s top orchestras, ballets, and opera companies of the present. Your guide will bring alive the architecture, cultural resonance and history of this opera house.
It might seem strange to visit a cemetery, but Recoleta doesn't fail to impress. Many mausoleums and tombs are the work of famous artists, seventy graves have been declared national monuments, but perhaps the most famous for our visitors will be the tomb of Evita Perón.
This museum houses a fantastic exhibit of over 4000 objects, from Roman sculptures, European miniatures and portraits to contemporary hand-crafted silverwork. What's more the building's neoclassical architecture and landscape gardens are a delight too.
The MALBA displays an exceptional permanent collection of the Argentine entrepreneur Eduardo Constantini of over two hundred works by 20th-century modern and contemporary Latin American artists including Fernando Botero, Pedro Figari, Antonio Segui, Antonio Berni, Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. The Constantini collection is considered to be one of the most important and paradigmatic assemblies of modern art in the region.
A descendant of an aristocratic Spanish family, Isaac Fernández Blanco's fortune allowed him to acquire a superb collection of colonial art treasures: gathering silverwork, paintings, furniture, books and documentation of his era. He presented it at his house in the centre of town which he opened to the public in 1922. There is also an impressive collection of European art, tapestries and ceramics built up by the Noel family and a beautiful silver and art collection donated by Celina González Garaño. The Ibero-American collection is today considered to be one of the most representative and comprehensive in Latin America; its selection of colonial silverwork boasts an astonishing selection of pieces from Perú and the area of the River Plate.
Your artists’ atelier tour is an intimate five-hour journey with your guide (also an expert in the field) around some of Buenos Aires' best private art workshops covering several distinct genres, from painting to photography. This is a unique opportunity to meet both emerging and established local artists in the intimacy of their studios. You are invited to ask questions, inspect the pieces closely, enjoy coffee and medialunas (pastries) with the artist and, of course, guests are invited to purchase artwork but there is no pressure to buy.
The tour ends with a luncheon at a private gallery in the hip Palermo Soho district where you can exchange their opinion on artworks and enjoy further pieces of art on display. The main concept of the artists´atelier tour is to bridge the gap between the artist and the audience, deepening the connection between them and offering an insider’s look at contemporary Argentine art.

Certainly standing out from most other Mendoza hotels, EntreCielos is very much on the contemporary cusp and bravely looks ahead to luxury wine lodges of the future.
In-keeping with the minimal modernist design, the exterior is non-descript and inside takes the mould of a concrete bunker. However, don’t let this discourage you because the décor of soft, sparkling floor and ceiling lights as well as the rich textures and inviting soft furnishings gives it a stylish and luxurious warmth. A total renovation of the property was completed in May 2011 and the rough bare walls interrupted with sheer glass playing out the beyond scenery of vines, mountains and skies makes for a pleasant journey of contrast when walking the maze-like hallways.
There is a large spa modelled on the traditional Hammam, where you can get a massage, facial, sit back in steam rooms, or plunge yourself between hot and cold pools.
Five categories of rooms are grouped and styled to the different ages of wine, and all have private terraces, iPod docks, air con and free WiFi. The ‘Young’ or superior rooms exude a fun vibe and are good for families. ‘Classic’ or superior deluxe rooms are slightly bigger, come with a four-poster bed or twin and have bright, vibrant bathrooms with a freestanding bath tub. Next up is the ‘Reserva’ or junior suites with similar amenities to the Classic yet is 50m² and at 85 m² is the ‘Gran Reserva’ or Duplex suite (of which there are 4), which enjoys two levels and unique views of the Andes, vineyards and surrounding gardens. At the top is ‘Grand Cru’ or super king with 95 m² to roam about in, a private terrace with Jacuzzi, rainforest shower and coffee machine. Currently uncompleted but soon to pip the Grand Cru is the exclusively private vineyard loft.
With a good range of activities and a helpful team of staff, the food served in the in-house restaurant is very good and well matched with the wine from their cavernous cellar.

This is a perfect example of traditional Mendoza. Finca Adalgisa is a longtime family-owned bodega which has been expertly converted into a hotel.
There are just eleven rooms, all very comfortable and decorated with period pieces. The hotel also has a pleasant garden and outdoor pool area.
The Malbecs produced by this small bodega are excellent, and the hotel has a lovely wine cellar.
The small scale, the history and the beauty of the surroundings make this a particularly charming and authentic place from which to enjoy the wine region.
Spend your time enjoying the beautiful Mendoza region. Visit wineries, enjoy the restaurants or simply relax at your hotel.

Our expert local guide will collect you from your hotel and bring you for an enjoyable sample of the different wineries in the Mendoza area.
The Central Valley or Primera Zona (the closest to the city of Mendoza) includes the counties of Luján de Cuyo, Maipú, Guaymallén and Godoy Cruz. This is the home of Malbec and where some of the most prestigious Argentine wineries are located. Originally from Bordeaux, France, this variety found the ideal place to prosper in Mendoza given the agro-climatic conditions of the area.
It's a private tour and can be entirely specialised to your requirements, just let your travel designer know if you have any special requests.
During the tour we'll visit three different wineries, we suggest a mix of smaller, boutique establishments and the larger operations, to give you a chance to see the contrasts and differences. During the visit you'll always be accompanied by your private guide, though during the visits and tastings themselves you'll also be with the wineries' own guide (and there may be other guests). We can arrange for visits to be entirely private if you prefer.
Finally, in the afternoon, we stop at one of the top Bodega restaurants (such as La Tupina or Ruca Malen) for a chance to really enjoy the wine as it is meant to be; with great food. You have a gourmet tasting lunch paired with wines from the Bodega.
During this exclusive tour you will be making visits to small wineries within the Central Valley area with production levels no higher than 300,000 litres per year. Boutique wineries have become a trademark of Mendoza wine country and many people find these smaller wineries more charming than the atmosphere found on some of the larger, production-focused wineries. The personality of each boutique winery is distinctly different from each other, reflecting the personality of the owners who run them. Many are retired foreigners with a passion for wine, while others are Argentines new to the business driven by a similar passion. Others have remained small over many generations and are run by family members who have been in the industry for years.
You will visit three boutique wineries and observe the contrast between traditional wine-making methods and ultra-modern technology used in other properties. There will be a focus on a different part of wine producing at each winery: touring the vineyards, observing productions methods, visiting wine barrel cellars to discover how the wines are aged and finally bottled and ready to go!
You will also be invited to taste wines at each of the properties.
Enjoy an excellent tasting lunch with paired wines at a boutique bodega and you will be returned to your hotel at the end of the day.
