With its mint green façade and elegant architecture, the Iberostar Grand Hotel Trinidad looks just the part in this wonderfully colonial city.
Overlooking the quiet Plaza Carillo and the San Francisca de Paula church, the hotel is ideally situated for those who want to be close to the buzz of the old town while also enjoying the peace and quiet.
On entering the hotel you’ll find yourself in the grand inner courtyard with its chequered marble flooring and elegant archways. A tinkling founds sits in the middle surrounded by palms and sofas and chairs where guests can relax and connect to the WiFi.
A sweeping staircase leads to the rooms and suites, which are spacious and bright. Dark wood furniture and four-posted beds add to the colonial charm of the hotel and some of the suites feature small balconies where you can look out over the square.
There are two restaurants serving a mix of Cuban and international cuisine and a bar that mixes classic cocktails using aged Cuban rum. There is also a fumoir where you can learn about the county’s cigar culture and try this most famous of Cuban exports.
