A lovely low-key eco resort of just ten naturally-styled cabinas set into seventy acres of primary rainforest in the remote Caletas section between Drake Bay and Corcovado National Park. Only accessible by boat, it’s that secluded.
Dropping you off for real dalliance with the Peninsula’s abounding nature and wildlife, the staff are great, the dining menu is nicely varied, and the freshly baked goods are surprising and delightful. The rooms are well spaced around the tropical grounds and are simple but clean and comfortable, boasting en suite bathrooms, pleasant ‘upcycled’ natural wood interiors, air conditioning and ceiling fans.
Being set just back from a solitary beach that is great for swimming, there is also a pool, which is quite rare for hotels in this region. The numerous explorations and activities to choose from are all well-led and varied enough to suit all ages and preferences.
