Undoubtedly the best hotel actually within the Tayrona National Park thanks in part to its wonderful setting, but also because Ecohabs feels like a very natural stay and one that’s in harmony with the pristine surrounds of the parkland.
Fourteen well-kept wood thatched cabins create a sort of indigenous-looking colony over the side of one of Tayrona’s coastal cliffs, gently sloping into the white sand beach below. Varnished light wood interiors, conical roofs, private verandas slung with your own hammock, plasma TVs and iPod docks give the two-storey cabins a sophisticated polish, not to mention glorious views over the hillsides and ocean. Each has its own en suite bathroom on the ground floor and are well spaced apart from the other cabins, which are linked by a series of stairs and walkways.
You’ll find two restaurants, an eco-shop and massage parlour at the base of the hill on the beach. The food is good but of a limited choice.
