Set in the between wild Caribbean beaches and the jungle covered Sierra Nevada mountain range, about an hour from Santa Marta and only a few miles from the Tayrona National Park, Hotel Merecumbe is a charming boutique ecolodge offering true seclusion.

Ten simple yet elegantly designed cabins with high palm-thatched roofs are tucked away in the tropical gardens, each combining traditional and modern architecture and techniques to provide accommodation that is comfortable and still in keeping with the surroundings. There is no hot water or television in the rooms, but luxurious bedding, towels and toiletries provide creature comforts. The has a strong focus on the environment and sustainable practice that extends to it inventive menu that includes delicious natural juices and local ingredients, with excellent steak and fish dishes.
