Taj Fateh Prakash Udaipur was built during the reign of Maharana Fateh Sing, one of the greatest Maharanas of Mewar, and used as an esclusive venue for royal functions. The architecture and its original features have been preserved so guests will enjoy the ambiance of a traditional royal residence.

The interior of the hotel is filled with portraits, royal artefacts and the armoury of the Meward dynasty. The rooms and suites are equally lavish with original painting and period furniture and large arched windows that look out over Lake Pichola.

If you venture up to the upper gallery you’ll find the magnificent Crystal Gallery, thought to be the world’s single largest crystal collection with everything from sparkling decanters and glasses to furniture. The Sunset Terrace restaurant offers dramatic views of Udaipur’s most famous landmarks and is where you can enjoy varied cuisine and live music. Drinks and afternoon tea are served in the Surya Darshan Bar where you can watch the sun set over the hills that ring Lake Pichola.

Udaipur and the surrounding countryside are ripe for exploring, but when you want to simply relax and unwind then there is plenty to keep you entertained at the hotel, including a swimming pool, spa, billiards room and squash courts.
