A true Swiss mountain getaway
- 30 rooms
- Igloo in winter and straw room in summer
- Sauna and steam room
The Kemmeriboden-Bad is set amidst the lush meadows and fantastic mountain slopes of the Emmental region. The traditional Swiss house has beautiful views of forest thickets, gorgeous in the summer and charming beneath a blanket of winter snow.
The rooms at the Kemmeriboden-Bad are modern but have retained their old-world style and character with pine panelling and beams. The Heugade 1878 is so named because it was the year that the great grandparents of the current owners got married. The bathroom features a large freestanding tub and in the bedroom you’ll find an antique wardrobe that was given as a wedding present.
During the summer you can bed down in the deluxe straw room, a huge space with straw bales serving as tables and shelving. If you visit in winter, get cosy in the igloo where as well as its quirky and unique decor, you’ll get to enjoy a delicious cheese fondue in your room.
Produce for the restaurant is harvested from neighbouring farms who practice responsible and sustainable methods. Enjoy traditional Swiss cuisine as well as the hotel’s famous meringues, complemented by a selection of diverse and interesting wines.
