Swedish Winter Adventure

There is so much to do during a stay at Brändön Lodge. You've got the pristine landscape of Swedish Lapland on your doorstep so explore the forest and archipelago on foot or by snowmobile and learn what it's like to live in this incredible Arctic environment.

Closeness to nature is part of daily life in Lapland and today you will spend some time with your guide discussing the forests and the frozen sea and the nature that surrounds you. Your guide will share tips on how to live and stay safe in the arctic region and you'll look for animal tracks and signs from the variety of wildlife that lives in the area. Lunch is included.

After dinner your guide will fit you out with snowshoes and lead you on a tour to a secluded location to look for the Northern Lights which will hopefully be shining above in the dark night skies.

After enjoying breakfast, prepare for your four-hour tour where you will head out on a snowmobile to explore the frozen sea and islands of the archipelago. Out on the islands you will search for wildlife and then, out past the islands, look for pack-ice formations. Lunch is included.

Enjoy the tranquility of Swedish Lapland from your one-of-a-kind room at the Teeehotel. There are plenty of activites on offer, whether you want to explore the forest on foot or bike, kayak along the river or simply relax in the sauna and enjoy some beautifully prepared and locally foraged food.

A tour with dog and sled through the pristine forest and over the frozen river provides a dream-like feeling. You’re side by side with nature for what is an an unforgettable experience.

You will be taken by sled, which is pulled by a snowmobile, down to the river for a wonderful dining experience. You'll be surrounded by torches and candles as you are served a three-course dinner in a heated tipi tent on an ice covered lake. You sit on reindeer skins while enjoying a fantastic meal over two and a half hours with a chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

Gammelstad Church Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in Gammelstaden near the city of Luleå, Sweden. It is the best preserved example of a type of town that was once widespread throughout northern Scandinavia. The 15th-century Nederluleå Church is surrounded by 424 wood-built houses which were only used on Sundays and during religious festivals to accommodate worshippers from the surrounding area who could not return home the same day because of the distance and the difficulty of travelling in wintry conditions.

Enjoy your days exploring Stockholm, Sweden's beautiful capital. Set over 14 islands, it's a place of water and greenery as much as the urban, a place where centuries of history meet the constant forward thinking nature of its near 1 million inhabitants. As well as fine museums, trend-setting restaurants and vibrant nightclubs, a short cruise out of the city will find you among the thousands of beautiful islands that make up the Stockholm archipelago, making this a city that feels surprisingly outdoorsy.

On this tour, you'll get to see some of the city's most popular highlights, including the Vasa Museum, the Royal Palace and the City Hall. At the Vasa Museum, you'll get to marvel at the remnants of a wreck, which lay at the bottom of the ocean for some 333 years. Next, you'll breathe in the fresh air as you wander down hidden alleyways between medieval buildings in Gamla Stan (the old town). Pop into the Royal Palace of Stockholm and see the state apartments, pass by the cathedral, and discover the historic Stortorget and Mårten Trotzigs Gränd alleyways. Then you'll end the tour with glimpses of some of Stockholm's city districts, like Södermalm, Djurgården, Norrmalm and Östermalm.
