Set within Palma’s ancient city walls, in a structure that dates back over 700 years old, the Can Cera has one of the richest histories in Palma and is now one its finest hotels. The current building owes most of its form to 17th century alterations, when it was turned into a Renaissance palace.

Inside, Can Cera has well proportioned rooms, high ceilings of sculptured plasterwork, balconies and an atmospheric courtyard. 14 rooms and suites are decorated in a rich but unostentatious style, with antique furnishings and modern amenities. The grand Suite Can Cera, once the palace’s main room, has ornately carved wooden panels, four-poster bed and a spacious terrace with hand-painted tiles.

In keeping with the palace’s original layout, there are a number of large common rooms such as salons, library and gallery spaces that houses an ongoing exhibition of artworks. There’s also a simple spa with a sauna, Jacuzzi and hammam, as well as a treatment room.

Down in the courtyard, the intimate Can Cera Restaurant offers a thoroughly modern take on tapas using seasonal produce in warm and welcoming setting with a proudly Spanish wine list.
