Located on the southern Tuscan coast, close to the sandy beaches of Marina di Grosseto and the rocky coves of La Rocchette and Talamone, is Il Pellicano, a glamorous hotel befitting of its illustrious history.
Il Pellicano started as an exclusive club, set up by an American socialite and a British pilot, and during the 1960s and 1970s was a popular holiday destination for politicans, royalty and stars of the silver screen. Charlie Chaplin and Henry Fonda were just some of the guests who frequented the club.
Rooms and suites are spread across the main building and surrounding villas, and many come with spectacular views over the Tuscan archipelago. Large windows flood rooms with natural light and tiled floors and classic decor give them an unmistakably Italian feel.
The Pellicano Restaurant is headed up by Michelin-starred chef, Sebastiano Lombardi, and offers traditional Italian dishes with a contemporary flourish. In the warmer months, you’ll want to take a table on the verandah. For more informal dining, Pelligrill serves delicious grilled meat and fish in its idyllic location between the hotel and the beach.
You’re surrounded by beautiful coastline, and the hotel has its own beach club with heathed seawater pool and sun loungers – as you sip a cocktail and look out over the glittering water, you’ll realise it doesn’t get much more glamorous than this.
Whatever you want your luxury tour or safari itinerary to include, we’ll create something fully bespoke for you… and only you.
