The Grand Hotel Cocumella is the oldest hotel in the Sorrento peninsula, renowned for its gardens and cliff-edge position overlooking the Bay of Naples below.
Originally a 16th-century Jesuit monastery, features airy interiors with frescoed ceilings, gilded mirrors and antiques twinned with modern amenities in its 46 rooms and suites.
There are three fabulous dining options, a pool shaded by orange trees, and, down a path hewn into the cliff (or elevator) a stretch of small stretch of sand and a private solarium. There’s also a restored tall ship from 1880 ship, the Vera, available for some of the most exclusive sailing trips in the Mediterranean.
