Kapari Natural Resort
Idyllic escape in the village of Imerovigli
- 14 rooms and suites
- Restaurant and bar
- Swimming pool
Kapari Natural Resort is located in the picturesque village of Imerovigli, nestled in the rocks 380 metres above sea level. Much of the village was destroyed by an earthquake in 1956, but 40 years ago one of the few remaining dwellings was bought and turned into a beautiful boutique hotel. Cleverly crafted with sustainability principles in mind, this eco-friendly resort is also involved in various community projects.
There are 14 rooms and suites, typically Cycladic in design and with incredible views of the caldera. Light, earthy tones and whitewashed walls characterise the design, while the cave-like structure of the rooms due to their clifftop location means that each one is totally unique.
The outdoor pool offers incredible views of the Aegean, as does the restaurant and bar – an ideal spot to sip on a cocktail while gazing at the sunset.
A supporter of the local community
This resort actively supports the local community by using local farms and producers as its main suppliers. Kapari also supports several local cultural events, such as the Santorini’s Musical Festival.
Kapari promotes sustainable tourism, and the restoration of Kapari from a three-hundred-year-old cave is a well-thought-out construction created purely from traditional materials to maintain the authentic personality of Santorini within the core foundation of the building. Though Kapari’s aesthetic is all about natural and organic forms, it boasts an impressively intelligent technology system and employs high tech smart meters in each suite to monitor energy consumption and utilises a geothermal pump method to minimalise hot water and electricity usage.
