Poised on a clifftop overlooking the sparkling waters of the Adriatic Coast, is the magnificent Villa Sheherezade. Facing both the island of Lokrum and Dubrovnik’s impressive city walls, breathtaking views greet you at every turn and stepping inside the villa is to enter a world of unadulterated luxury.
It’s said that the villa was built in the 20s by a Lithuanian entrepreneur who was escaping Russia’s October Revolution for his mistress. No expense was spared and he filled it with bespoke furniture and rare objects from around the world. True or not, this villa will capture your heart.
Spread over 4,200sqm and three floors, Villa Sheherezade features high ceilings, hidden alcoves, beautiful original artwork and intricate Moorish architectural detailing. A wood-panelled hallway leads to the living room, with panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea, while the Grand Salon opens up onto a huge balustrade. There is also a banquet hall and a study room and five en-suite bedrooms, all with views of the sea or garden. The master bedroom, Room 1001, named after the book of Arabic folktales ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ features a beautiful marble bathroom with its own balcony overlooking the coast.
Winding your way through the lush gardens, you’ll come to the outdoor pool and whirlpool bath located just metres from the sea that laps at the rocks. The villa has its own rocky beach and a pier to which you can tend boats. Once you’re done splashing in the water, head to one of two rooftop terraces to watch the sun sink over the horizon.
While staying at the villa, you’ll enjoy 24-hour butler service, a housekeeper and a chef and waiting during breakfast.
Whatever you want your luxury tour or safari itinerary to include, we’ll create something fully bespoke for you… and only you.
