Nestled on the west coast of the beautiful island of Mafia, Ras Mbisi is a beach lodge of effortless, friendly grace. This bespoke getaway sits on eight kilometres of pristine deserted sands, surrounded by lush, tropical growth.
As a bespoke, sustainably-built lodge, Ras Mbisi has made a commitment to protect the natural beauty of Mafia Island by using coco-wood as a building material, solar power to heat water and a biomass gasifier fuelled by waste to supply power.
The lodge is composed of 16 large, spacious beach-side bandas where guests are lulled to sleep each night with the soothing sounds of the Indian Ocean. The lodge’s main areas include a pool and deck fringed by verdant tropical garden. The exquisite locale of west Mafia is celebrated for a rapidly regenerating reef, and a wealth of marine life which includes hark and humpback whales and exotic fish species.
