Example Trip Itinerary
Check in to your beautiful villa at Segera.
Segera is situated in the wooded savannah and grasslands of the Laikipia Plateau, between the glorious Mount Kenya to the east and the Great Rift Valley to the west. As well as supporting the endangered patas monkey, African wild dog and a sizeable portion of the world's remaining Grevy's zebra, Segera has good densities of lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyaena, elephant, buffalo, eland, reticulated giraffe and beisa oryx. There is also a wealth of plains game. The number of bird species recorded in the area totals 365.
Built alongside a river teeming with wildlife, the incredible NAY PALAD Bird Nest gives you chance to spend the night sleeping at treetop level with a 360 degree birds-eye-view of this beautiful wilderness. You'll be brought here just before sunset to find the nest lit up with lanterns, with champagne and culinary delights laid out on the open-air rooftop, and inviting beds (either open-air or within the shelter of the first floor) prepared with luxurious linens and hot water bottles, ready for the night ahead. The following morning, a picnic breakfast delivery is enjoyed while watching elephants, giraffe and other wildlife gather at the river.
With one fully-equipped bathroom, the Bird Nest is technically designed to sleep two guests, but a cosy family would also be welcome – for example the parents may choose to sleep in the shelter of the first floor, but children would love the adventure of sleeping out on the top deck.
