The gateway to Namibia’s Sand Sea on the edge of the enormous Sossusvlei dunes and adjoining the Namib-Naukluft Park, lies the exclusive 37,000-hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve.
A desolate yet thrilling landscape, the reserve’s choice of two differing lodges (Little Kulala and the Kulala Desert Lodge) sets you comfortably and conveniently for exploring this.
Take you pick at climbing the Big Daddy dunes and crossing the surreal clay pans, to spotting the various fauna seen in the Namib Desert (springbok, gemsbok, ostrich, bat-eared fox, and the rare aardwolf), bird-watching, guided walks (or by 4WD) or even balloon rides.
