Tawi Lodge

Relatively new and located in a 6,000 acre conservancy bordering Amboseli National Park, Tawi Lodge offers a more ‘lodge’ style option in the Amboseli area as opposed to a tented accommodation.

The private conservancy is only 5 minutes from the eastern entrance to the park and therefore provides the option to either go into the park itself for a busier game viewing spectacle or spend time in the vast expanse of the private reserve. Views over Kilimanjaro are epic and there is always a large concentration of game that moves in and around the lodge surroundings.

Each of the 12 cottages has views over the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro and a lovely wooden viewing deck to relax with a nice gin and tonic. A butler service is available for maximum privacy and allows you the choice of either dining in and enjoying the tranquillity of your own space, or visiting the central bar overlooking a favourite splash pond frequented by elephants. The cottages have a modern look to them, with wooden floors and high thatched ceilings adjoining a large bathroom area with free standing baths.

Within the grounds you have access to a swimming pool to cool down in the heat of the afternoon sun and if you feel like you would like to have a proper pampering session, the lodge has a ‘spa’ area. This is ideal to relax and spend time in the massage area or soak in a nice hot bath at sunset while watching the odd timid antelope sip from the waterhole a few meters away.
