Botswana's premier safari camps
- Mombo Camp - 9 tents
- Little Mombo - 3 tents
Without a doubt, the most famous lodges in Botswana, Mombo and Little Mombo Camps offer some of the best wilderness game viewing in all of Africa. The camps are also environmentally minded, from running off solar power, to supporting a rhino reintroduction project and helping to educate and develop local children interested in conservation.
The lodges are set within the Mombo concession on the northernmost tip of chief’s island. Known by many as the predator capital of Africa, this is the only place in the Delta where one can see all of the Big Five, including both black and white rhino.
Safaris are limited to day-time game drives (no water activities) but this simply doesn’t matter such is the quality of the experience.
As a part of Wilderness Safaris, Mombo and Little Mombo have a responsible and sustainable model of business. They aim to change people’s perspectives on the planet, and inspire those exposed to it to effect positive change in their own lives and own spheres of influence. Mombo is involved in the Conservation Purpose Project which supports the reintroduction of black and white rhino into the wilds of Botswana. The camps are also solar-powered.
For the future
Mombo and Little Mombo support Children in the Wilderness, a non-profit organisation which aims to facilitate sustainable conservation through leadership development and education of children in Africa.
