Half an hour from the Lodge, Mashatu Tent Camp blends into the bush, ideal for those after an intimate experience of the African bush.
Eight completely private tents are tucked under the branches of enormous trees, accessible via meandering pathways. The tents themselves are spacious and comfortable and each has its own private outdoor en-suite facilities, including W.C. and shower.
Warm camp vibes are encouraged, with informal meals either in the open-air thatched gazebo, or in the boma overlooking the floodlit waterhole. The camp’s plunge pool invites guests to cool off and escape the relentless heat typical during the summer months. The sturdy and shaded hide also overlooks the active waterhole, and here bush enthusiasts can sit quietly and witness animals going about their day, completely unaware that they are being watched.
Out in the bush, guests can explore the rugged African landscape either in the comfort of open 4-wheel drive vehicles, walking safaris, on mountain bikes, or horseback, guided by expert rangers and experienced trackers.
