The Gallon Jug Estate is a private reserve of more than 130,000 acres, making it a wonderfully isolated and wildlife rich part of the country. Birdwatching is particularly good here and it's also one of the best locations in Belize to see large cats such as the Jaguar (though they are still elusive creatures to spot). Being so secluded means that Chan Chich is best reached by private plane and the estate has its own landing strip.
