The Colchagua Valley has become one of the most important wine regions in the world, rivalling that of the Napa Valley for quality wine production. It was proclaimed Wine Valley of the year in Wine Enthusiast magazine 2005. The steep hills on either side trap in the daytime heat allowing excellent conditions for full-bodied wines.
This is a pleasant region to stay in, with some excellent restaurants and many different vineyards to explore.
It's great to visit all year round though March through to April is grape harvest time and the beautiful autumnal hues make it a magical time to visit.
