An unassuming village of just 500 people, previously a remote outpost, El Chalten is nestled just beneath the FitzRoy and Cerro Torre mountains. It's location making it one of the premier trekking and climbing destinations in Argentina.

This is one of the worlds most dramatic horizons with jagged vertical peaks that thrust defiantly into the skyline. The steepness of some of the faces prove a draw to some of the world's most accomplished climbers, but there are also many easier treks and climbing expeditions for the less experienced traveller.
