Solio is a rather special private reserve nestled between the Aberdares and Mount Kenya. It's home to a great population of well-protected white and black rhino in a more temperate climate at this higher altitude. A mixture of open areas, forest, lakes and swamp make for a very different safari landscape from elsewhere.
The reserve is fenced meaning that game is dense and easier to find than in a more wilderness setting. The slightly cooler climate will be an ideal break from the hotter weather in other areas for some.
The best monts to go are those from December to March, and from July to October.
Amazing Rhino viewing and a distinctly different safari backdrop
