Solio is a rather special private reserve nestled between the Aberdares and Mount Kenya. It's home to a great population of well-protected white and black rhino in a more temperate climate at this higher altitude. A mixture of open areas, forest, lakes and swamp make for a very different safari landscape from elsewhere.

The reserve is fenced meaning that game is dense and easier to find than in a more wilderness setting. The slightly cooler climate will be an ideal break from the hotter weather in other areas for some.
