Established in 1993 and taken over by the management of the Singita Collection in 2006, the Grumeti Game Reserve is beautifully placed as a catchment area for game from the Serengeti National Park and borders it in the west. During July and August you can see some wonderful sightings of the wildebeest and zebra migration as it makes its way north again. An enormous private concession area of around 350,000 acres of untouched wilderness, the reserve only has three lodges on it which means that your visit here is going to be unrivalled in terms of privacy and you will have exclusive traversing rights to the game that is just as rich as the Serengeti National Park. Animals know no boundaries, and with much less traffic, quite a few of the beasts have clocked on that the vast open landscapes in this reserve are wonderful to base their homes.
