Home to the Great Wildebeest Migration (one of the ‘Seven New Wonders of the World’), the Maasai Mara is arguably one of the most famous game reserves in the world. Over two million of these fantastic beasts migrate north from the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and roam through the Mara from July through to October annually. Please don’t forget that this stunning reserve is teeming with other game and is just as exciting at other times of the year!
The reserve is roughly 1,500 square kilometres in size and extends into the Serengeti in Tanzania covering some 25,000 square kilometres in total. The big five can all be ticked off your list on a visit here, and huge pods of hippos can be seen basking in the Mara and Talek Rivers which wind through the reserve. With the migration attracting such huge attention, this park can be very busy but we will do our utmost to ensure that the places you stay are extremely well located and off the beaten track. We endeavour to give you great access to the migration without the aggression that can be common in more densely populated areas of the reserve. The luxury that can be found in this fantastic area is astounding and an experience here is will placed with some quieter and more remote parts of the country.
